SUNWAY MAS – A joint development by both Dell and Alienware has unleashed three high-performance machines for Malaysian hardcore gamers. Unleashed at the Tbun cyber-cafe in Sunway Mas on Wednesday, the line-up included a 15-inch laptop and two desktop systems with over-clocking and liquid-cooling capabilities.
![]() After launching the M17x laptop in June, Dell has released its M15x model as a gaming platform designed for the hardcore gamer on the go. As the first Alienware laptop to house an Intel Core i7 processor, the M15x also comes equipped with a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M graphics card and up to 8GB of DDR3 1333MHz RAM. It's prowess was further demonstrated by three members of the media losing to a single professional gamer in a single team deathmatch involving the online game, 'Blackshot'.
However, despite being housed in a laptop model, the M15x does not function on an entirely mobile basis. In a response to a question concerning battery life, Mr Yeo Swee Key, Director of Dell Consumer Business, replied that because of the machine's power consumption, it still needed to be plugged into a power source in order to function for long periods of gaming. On top of that, the M15x also weighs in at 9lbs; a reminder of the heavier notebooks of the past.

While the M15x is currently retailing at RM5,999, the Area-51 and Area-51 ALX will only be available in Malaysia from the 23rd of this month, and are both priced at RM6,999.
