MONT KIARA, OCTOBER 7 - HP has unleashed a number of printers, including two from its list of touch-enabled PhotoSmart models. Making use of its TouchSmart interface, the Photosmart C4680 and C4780 are all-in-one print, copy and scan colour inkjet devices which allow users to preview photos on 1.45-inch colour displays before printing them; all without the need of a nearby computer.Available in sleek black designs, both the C4680 and C4780 claim to consume 30 percent less energy as compared to previous models. Priced at RM369 and RM 499 respectively, the C4780 will allow users to print documents and photos wirelessly via WiFi.
![]() HP also launched three low-cost DeskJet inkjet models in the form of the D2660, F2480 and the wireless-capable D5560. It also highlighted three different OfficeJet inkjet products, namely the 6500, 6500 Wireless and the 8500, which are purported to print faster than certain laser printers and use less power. On top of that, HP also released three printers from its LaserJet Enterprise range; the CP4520, CP4020 and 4025.
According to HP, all models listed are said to print up to 3-times more pages in black-and-white, and 2.5-times more in colour. However, on closer inspection, it was learned that these results required the use of special HP ink cartridges. Except for the LaserJet Enterprise series (which will be available from the 1st of November onwards), all printers mentioned are currently available in selected retail outlets.
