Prior to joining the company, Mr. Ng was the country manager for midmarket and ibm.com at IBM Malaysia Sdn Bhd. With over 20 years of IT industry experience, he was also a member of the IBM Malaysia senior management team. In this role, Mr. Ng will be responsible for leading the local team to drive growth for the company in Malaysia, and to further strengthen APC's position as a trusted advisor to businesses by providing energy efficient solutions and to create an awareness about power consumption on critical power and cooling services. According to Mr. Ng, his first actions as country general manager will be to assist APC to be the business partner of choice for their affiliated companies, as well as improve customer efficiency and streamline their processes. According to APC, 70 percent of all electrical power for most mainframe computers are allocated for the power and cooling systems alone, whilst the remainder is directed towards IT equipment. With the advent of multi-core processors and virtualization, server environments have had to deal with a variety of heating issues, especially where electrical consumption was concerned. APC was acquired by Schneider Electric as a subsidiary in 2007 and was later merged with the UPS vendor MGE UPS Systems. Having recorded a total sales of EUR 18.3 billion in 2008, the corporation employs almost 120,000 employees in more than 100 countries.
