Helsinki, Finland – April 28, 2009: KPN, the largest mobile operator in the Netherlands and an important F-Secure partner, has expanded its security offering to cover smartphones. KPN is now first in the Netherlands to offer a fully integrated security solution to its customers, combining fixed security and mobile security in one easy package.

Samu Konttinen, Vice President of F-Secure’s Mobile Solutions Business Unit, says: “Smartphones have become an integral part of corporate networks through common usage of VPN and push-email solutions. Smartphones need to be secured as part of the company’s IT infrastructure and have security policies in place. KPN now offers Dutch businesses the opportunity to protect all their company data easily and efficiently as a service.”

Richard Nijhoff from KPN ‘Software Online’ says: “We are pleased that we can now offer complete, all-in-one F-Secure security solutions to our business customers. This means that business broadband and mobile subscribers can come to us for all their security needs.”

Smartphones often contain highly confidential information, including messages, emails, business projects and other valuable data. F-Secure Mobile Security enables smartphone users to enjoy the full potential of their devices without worrying about threats to their company’s privacy, safeguarding the privacy of data even in the unfortunate event that the phone is lost or stolen.

KPN customers can manage their license easily with mobile Service Management Interface through KPN’s web services. F-Secure Mobile Security includes the industry’s leading anti-virus and firewall capabilities as well as a new anti-theft feature with remote lock, remote wipe and theft control functionalities.

Remote lock can be used to lock the device to protect confidential information quickly and easily with a single SMS message. The theft control feature activates when the SIM card is changed by locking the device. As an ultimate safety measure to prevent misuse, it is possible to erase all the data on the phone with remote wipe by sending an SMS message.
