ACM:2008 - Malaysia's national broadcaster Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) showcased examples of its RTM Digital broadcasts at the ACM:2008 ASEAN ICT EXPO in Kuala Lumpur from 28 to 30 October. It's still under trial and RTM expects to be launched in 2010. One of its features, SuperTeks features picture-in-picture display of news, foreigh exchange, share prices, weather information, information about TV and radio programmes, on the arts, films, health, Muslim prayer times and emergency numbers. RTM Digital uses Digital Video Broadcast – Terrestrial (DVB-T) technology to broadcast programmes one-way in the UHF band and users can select what they want to view in from its menu and their receiver will pick and display that. The system is high-definition (HD) ready and text will be in high-definition soon.
